SOS Crew Leader Job Description
FUNCTION: To provide support for SOS directors and assist in facilitating the needs of the SOS Staff. To provide leadership that will enable growth and development to specific aspects of the orientation program.
REPORTS TO: Director, Student Transitions
SOS Student Directors
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fulfill all responsibilities expected of an SOS Leader.
- Provide leadership within "Crew Groups" on the SOS staff team.
- Communicate with Crew Group throughout the summer via email.
- Facilitate crew group meetings that happen outside normal SOS training times.
- Bring leadership to specific aspect of the SOS program/Orientation that needs to be developed and work to develop it.
- General office work and administrative tasks during Spring and Fall 2012 semesters.
- Assist the SOS Directors during Spring Training in planning, preparation and facilitating of specific training sessions.
- Assist the SOS Directors during Fall Training in planning, preparation and facilitating of specific training sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

An SOS Crew Leader must:
- Meet all the requirements of an SOS leader.
- Have a desire to serve fellow SOS leaders.
- Be available February 24-26, 2012 to attend the Crew Leader retreat.
- Meet with Directors once a week in addition to regular SOS Staff training. These meetings will be scheduled according to a mutually agreed upon time (i.e. Thursdays 9:30am-10:20am).
- Be available to work 3-4 hours a week, in addition to Crew Leader meeting and SOS staff training.
- Be able to attend the spring retreat March 16-17, 2012.
- Be able to return to campus on August 15, 2012.
