Leaders Engaging and Advancing Diversity (LEAD) Scholarship 2014-2015 Application

Biola University's long-standing mission as been to prepare and equip students for leadership to serve the Christian community and society at large. In keeping with its mission, the University desires to proved a program designed to recruit and retain students who are committed to diversity and have a passion for promoting multicultural awareness. We believe these students will make distinctive contributions and provide cultural enrichment both inside and outside the University.

Who is eligible:
Any student who has developed a personal understanding of their own ethnic background and engaged in activities that promotes multi-ethnic awareness, learning, and celebration within the context of the United States. In addition, students applying should have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, and/or cumulative transfer GPA of 2.5 or higher.

An ideal LEAD candidate:
Someone who is passionate about serving and growing as a student at Biola in the area of racial reconciliation. The student would not only fulfill minimum LEAD program requirements, but would be proactive in seeking out opportunities to serve the Biola community in areas promoting diversity and racial reconciliation.

Application process:
Students desiring consideration for the 2014-2015 LEAD scholarship must submit this completed application as well as responses to the questions listed below. A student must have completed the general admission process to Biola University by Feb. 14th, 2014 to be considered. The LEAD scholarship committee will select students who best meet the application requirements along with a commitment to multicultural learning and development.
